Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: At heights. Noisy. Dusty. Dangerous. Outdoors. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings. Supervise other workers. Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level. Estimate costs and materials. Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Working at heights training. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Area of specialization: Shingled roofs. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Overtime required. Repetitive tasks. Work under pressure. Weight handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Client focus. Dependability. Reliability.
