Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Load and unload goods. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brakes Endorsement. Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks). Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Type of trucking and equipment: Flatbed. Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Transportation/travel experience: Local. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Overtime required. Repetitive tasks. Sitting. Personal suitability: Judgement. Organized. Reliability. Team player. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year. Support for newcomers and refugees: Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees .
