Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Wet/damp. Work setting: Various locations. Commercial. Industrial. Residential. Apartment building. Tasks: Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors. Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Backflow prevention Certification. Plumber Trade Certification. Plumber Red Seal Certificate. Gas Fitter Red Seal Certificate. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Overtime required. Work under pressure. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat.
