Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Relocation costs covered by employer. Supervision. Dispatching. Willing to relocate. Tasks: Recommend measures to improve work methods. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Supervise workers and projects. Train or arrange for training. Dispatch bus drivers and monitor routes. Co-ordinate and schedule activities. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Load and unload goods. Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand. Bag, box or parcel purchases for customers, for shipment or delivery. Use maps and other trip planning aids. Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems. Professionalism in customer service. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Sort packages for delivery. Follow directions and read map. Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products. Supervision: 5-10 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's Licence (Class 2 or B or C). Driver's License (Class 3 or D). Computer and technology knowledge: MS Access. MS Excel. MS Office. MS Outlook. MS Word. Transportation/travel experience: Local. Provincial/territorial. Type of industry experience: Trucking. Service experience: Delivery. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own vehicle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Weight handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
