Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Automobile repair services. Tasks: Estimate repair costs. Adjust, repair or replace parts using hand tools and equipment. Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance. Perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment. Replace oil, air and fuel filters on motor vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment. Change engine oil and lubricate running gears or moving parts of automobiles, trucks or heavy equipment. Supervision: Mechanical repairers (motor vehicle manufacturing). Equipment and machinery experience: Gasoline-powered equipment. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Personal suitability: Organized.
