Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. Tasks: Consult with teachers, parents, administrators and community agencies. Co-ordinate the provision of counselling and information services to students, parents and teachers. Administer and interpret standardized intelligence, aptitude and interest tests. Visit colleges and secondary schools to provide academic information to prospective students, their parents and educational institutions. Prepare and deliver presentations at conferences, workshops and symposia. Provide on-going professional development, training and consultative services to teachers. Evaluate curriculum programs and recommend improvements. Develop teaching materials and other resources for program delivery. Advise students on course and academic matters and career decision. Counselling specialization: Academic program or credit evaluation. Career or post-secondary training orientation. Co-operative education or work placement. Multicultural adjustment.
