Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Commercial dental laboratory. Tasks: Prepare plaster models and moulds. Mould wax over dentures set-up. Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays. Polish and buff dentures. Supervision: 3-4 people. Technical expertise (dental): Plastering. Packing. Waxing-up. Polishing. Area of specialization: Full dentures. Crowns and bridges. Ceramic or porcelain application. Gold dies and goldwork. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Repetitive tasks. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Sitting. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Flexibility. Judgement. Team player. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
