Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: At heights. Dusty. Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. Renovation. Residential. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Personal protective equipment (PPE) training. Working at heights training. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Physically demanding. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Reliability. Values and ethics. Organized.
