School District No. 20 (Kootenay-Columbia)<p>Teaching Vacancy<p>2024-2025 Posting Date: October 4, 2024 Competition # 24-T-86<p>0.6 FTE District English Language Learning Teacher<p>Temporary: Immediately January 28, 2025 <p>Qualifications: BC Certification<p> Bachelor of Education<p> Significant coursework and/or certification in teaching strategies for English language learners <p> Demonstrated experience teaching and ability to select appropriate materials and equipment for English language learners<p> Ability to model, through demonstration teaching, appropriate strategies and techniques for staff to use to assist ELL students in regular classrooms<p> Create annual instructional plans<p> Demonstrated experience and/or training in the assessment of English language proficiency levels for English language learners<p> Previous successful experience teaching at the elementary level is preferred<p> Demonstrated current knowledge of the renewed curriculum, including the learning and core competencies and appropriate resources, is essential<p> Demonstrated ability to use a variety of instructional and assessment strategies is essential<p> Demonstrated ability to integrate appropriate technologies into educational programs<p> Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment<p> Excellent communication, interpersonal and classroom management skills <p>For further information, please contact Kristi Crowe, Director of Instruction Learning Services, at kcrowe@sd20.bc.ca.
