*Job Duties*
* Provide professional service and communication directly with customers to ensure their satisfaction with the product, quality and variety of food.
* Prepare food for the dining facilities including preparation of soups, daily menus, specials of the day, vegetables, sauces, gravies, etc., and ensure primary preparation is completed for the following day
* Ensure appealing presentation on all service stations.
* Portion control instructions for servers
* Responsible for the correct holding temperatures of food prior to and during service; ensures a first-in, first out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance
* Placing orders with distributors for the supplies needed for production as directed
* Responsible for adequate levels of product for all shifts which includes; soups, daily menus, specials of the day, vegetables, sauces, gravies, etc.
* Works with Head Chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities
* Promote and enforce health and safety regulations and promote safety awareness in workplace
* Performs other duties as assigned
*Qualifications*
* Minimum 2 years in a role as Sous Chef of a medium to large kitchen; volume cooking and catering experience also required
* Highly effective communication skills
* Ability to direct and supervise small and large groups of employees
* Creativity
* Ability to follow standardized recipes and instructions, as well as to adapt them
* Exceptional organizational abilities
* Extended periods of time standing at workstations
* Ability to do lifting as required
* Must be able to meet a flexible work schedule / shifts schedule between Monday to Sunday as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 34 ? 40 per week
