* JOB POSTING *2024.SU.54 CLOSING DATE: October 15, 2024 (3:30 pm) EVERGREEN SCHOOL DIVISION invites applications for the following Indefinite Term position, which is effective ASAPGeneral Maintenance Worker Essential Duties This position is based out of the Gimli Maintenance Shop and as a member of the Divisional Maintenance team will complete work as assigned in all Evergreen School Division facilities.Performs miscellaneous repairs, maintenance construction, general installation and preventative maintenance work under the direction of the Buildings Supervisor.Ability, Skills & Qualifications: Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent Preference will be given to candidates that have remediation/abatement certification Preference will be given to candidates that have experience operating equipment such as tractor/truck & trailer Consideration will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience working in residential and commercial environments General knowledge of building systems, heating, etc. Knowledge of building codes and regulations Demonstrable computer/technology skills Able to work in confined spaces Physically capable of performing all functions of this position including lifting up to 40 lbs. Perform general maintenance and other duties as assigned Must possess a valid Class 5 drivers license Must be self-motivated, highly organized and a team member Hours of work: 8.0 hr/day (7:30 am to 4:00 pm), Mon-Fri, and on emergency call outsSalary: According to the Collective Agreement We thank all who applied for their interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
