Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dangerous. At heights. Noisy. Outdoors. All weather conditions. Work setting: Urban area. Rural area. Tasks: Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning. Survey and assess designated sites. Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions. Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease. Plant and move trees. Tree removal. Assist in pruning trees, shrubs and plants. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certification. Arboriculturists Trade Certification. Specialization or experience: Green economy sector. Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles. Safety harness. Safety vest. Rain gear. Personal suitability: Client focus.
