Apply today and become a part of our exciting journey! *Position Overview:* LawDepot.com is currently expanding and looking to recruit a Technical Writer in Edmonton, Alberta. In this role, you will be responsible for creating interactive web products and services that are helpful, easy to understand and a pleasure to use for our 24 million plus yearly visitors. A primary responsibility will be improving the usability of our products by refining the structure and readability of our interactive questionnaires. This is a full-time permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week with opportunities in office or hybrid. *Primary Responsibilities:* * Develop interactive product questionnaires that customers fill out to create customized legal documents * Write and edit text to make the legal document creation process simple and easy for users * Collaborate with our Legal, Design, Development and QA departments to create powerful, interactive web products that are optimized for conversion * Gather and sort through quantitative and qualitative data to determine problem areas and opportunities for improvement across web products * Implement best practices and explore the creation of new best practices for web products * Utilize internal tools to implement questionnaire improvements * Conduct product research and user testing * Develop innovative strategies for increasing user engagement and retention * Help assess the viability of potential projects, services, and features * Continually develop skills by reading and researching about UX optimization and digital marketing *Knowledge and Skill Requirements:* * Post-secondary education in Writing, Communications, Law, Business, Library Science, or other relevant fields * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to communicate complicated information in a succinct way that users can understand * Understanding of conversion optimization, consumer psychology, and online marketing * Effectively provide and receive feedback * Self-driven with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team * Ability to learn, work with, and troubleshoot various types of technology * Ability to identify opportunities and suggest new ideas * Quality decision making and sound judgement * Technical writing experience would be an asset * Knowledge of law and legal matters would be an asset * Working knowledge of UX best practices would be an asset * Software development knowledge would be an asset * Bilingual in French, German or Spanish would be an asset *Why You Should Join the LawDepot Team:* * Excellent total compensation package * Comprehensive health and dental benefits, plus an additional Health Care Spending Account * Great work life balance (37.5 hour work weeks, flexible schedules, ability to bank hours) * Three weeks paid vacation, plus bonus personal days * Continuous learning opportunities, including LinkedIn Learning subscriptions and training budgets * Company share plan * Free catered lunches for the entire office * Monthly social events for team members to enjoy (think axe throwing, rock climbing, board games, food trucks, trivia contests, and charitable activities) * Casual work environment * Personal offices for focused work and to have your individual space (plus collaborative workspaces for when you want to meet- LocationEdmonton, AB
