We are seeking a dedicated Dairy Herdsperson to join our team. We are located in the Ilderton area and operate a 100 cow robotic milking dairy farm. In addition, we also have our calves on a Lely Calf Feeder, and also grow various crops for feed and commercial sale. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the care and management of dairy calves and cows. Duties:Feeding, watering, and monitoring the health of dairy calves and cowsAssisting with calving and ensuring newborn calves receive proper careMaintain calf records and complete registration of animalsCleaning and maintaining livestock housing areasAdministering medications and vaccinations as neededMonitoring herd behavior and identifying any signs of illness or distressOperating farm machinery for feeding and cleaning tasksAssisting with breeding programs as requiredOther related duties as assigned Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent is required Previous experience working with dairy cattle or animals is required Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed Strong work ethic Willingness to learn and follow farm protocols Access to reliable transportation Skills:Operation and knowledge of machinery Organization Writing and computer skills Adaptability Job Type: Full-timePay: $17.20-$25.00 per hour/based on experienceExpected hours: No less than 40 per weekSchedule:Monday to FridaySome scheduled weekends Submit your resume by clicking on the 'APPLY TO THIS POSITION' icon. - LocationIlderton, ON
