<p>Community Support Worker <p>100% Term to June 27, 2025 <p>7. 25 Hours per day <p><p><p>The Community Support Worker supports the capacity of schools as hubs within communities to strategically gather and deploy school-community services and resources in ways that attain better outcomes for students, families and surrounding neighborhoods.<p><p><p>Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: <p><p><p> Student School Readiness<p> Increase family, community and student engagement<p> facilitate and/or coordinate workshops or support to groups, parenting skills and other student needs;<p> Support families of students who have attendance issues;<p> refer and/or facilitate learners access to resources in the community, social services, professional services and government programs;<p> advocate for clients with institutions, landlords, etc.;<p> maintain client records and provide continual updates to Principals, Vice Principals and teachers;<p> Create and/or facilitate programs to support well-being and success;<p> participate in networking and coalition building with teachers and the wider community;<p> perform other related duties within this classification and other related classifications not exceeding skills and capabilities, as required.<p> continually assess and address ongoing needs;<p><p><p>Qualifications: <p><p><p> Post-secondary education in an area of study related to human services is an asset; <p> Demonstrated successful leadership experience and the ability to lead groups in small and large settings; <p> Experience working with adults would be an asset, ex. parent workshops;<p> Experience applying computer/technology skills;<p> Ability to produce proposals, reports, using data;<p> Experience working with Indigenous and non-Indigenous groups is required; <p> An understanding of ?The Land, The People, and The Stories? in the context of working with Indigenous families<p> A knowledge and understanding of the various relevant population groups within the Winnipeg School Division is preferred;<p> Experience working with the students, families and communities of the Winnipeg School Division is preferred;<p> Knowledge of child development an asset;<p> Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment;<p> Ability to collaborate with school staff and provide support;<p> Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; <p> High level of initiative and effective time management skills;<p> Flexibility to work non-standard hours of work;<p> Positions may include driving between schools and partnerships;<p> Must have a valid driver?s license and access to a vehicle.<p><p><p><p>How to apply: <p><p><p>Click the button "Apply Online" and log into your account.
