Our schools are dispersed geographically and range in size and composition:-13 elementary schools<p>-1 middle school<p>-1 K-10 school<p>-4 secondary schools<p>-2 K-12 schools<p>-online learning and blended programs<p>-an extensive array of program options, including Aboriginal Education, Late French Immersion, Outdoor Programs, and a strong International Program.The annual pay range for a full time teacher is $63,367 to $111,488, with placement on the range based on experience and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.<p>The schedule for this position is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The awarded applicant will have recent successful experience working collaboratively with school staff, will be able to work closely with the school team, and will be knowledgeable and able to work appropriately with students who have learning challenges. The awarded applicant will be innovative, creative, and demonstrate understanding of the BC Ed Plan and the district directions. They will be a person who is continually striving to improve pedagogy in a changing educational environment.Qualifications:<p> Bachelor of Education (Middle or Secondary) with a degree/major/specialization in Fine Arts, including drawing, painting and ceramics;<p>A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch<p>Teachers applying for this position must possess the following attributes: <p> Willingness to work closely with parents;<p> Capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues;<p> Excellent classroom management skills;<p> Knowledge of current instructional practices and curriculum, including the SD8 Inclusion Model;<p> Knowledge and active use of Shelley Moore framework;<p> Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills;<p> Recent, demonstrated successful experience in a middle or secondary school setting;<p> Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to be flexible;<p> Familiarity with social-emotional learning and trauma-informed practices;<p> Have a vision for creating an inclusive, dynamic, and engaging middle school shop program. The ideal candidate will be expected to: <p> Coordinate and deliver services for diverse learners;<p> Demonstrate ability to use differentiated instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse learners;<p> Implementing inclusion supports and recommendations in the IEP in the classroom<p> Participate in on-going professional development and develop a personal growth plan<p> Work in an atmosphere of collaboration with staff to build consistency and quality of programs<p> Communicate effectively with staff and parents<p> Be familiar with the BC Ed plan, school district board goals and school goals<p> Implement school wide strategies to support the school boards student expectations, school and class
