This is a temporary position, which may be extended by mutual agreement.SSC Guidance Counsellor Dates: November 11, 2024 June 27, 2025 (Monday Friday) <p>Position: Guidance Counsellor <p>Time: 8:30 AM 4:00 PM with a 30 min unpaid lunch (35 hours/week) <p>Location: St. Louis Adult Learning and Continuing Education Centers <p> 80 Young St. Kitchener General Description of Duties: <p> Academic counselling for registering students <p> Advising/Assisting with post-secondary applications and workplace transition<p> Providing resources to students regarding college, university, and apprenticeship programs <p> Providing resources and connections to community supports for student wellness needs<p> Assessing students and granting PLAR or Maturity credits, and maintaining detailed records<p> Assisting with transcript verification for graduation planning<p> Working in a fast-paced environment with continuous student intake M inimum Requirements: Current OCT with Senior Level Qualifications<p> Guidance Qualifications - Part 1 Desirable Assets: Guidance Specialist<p> Experience working with Adult Learners<p> Expertise in the field of Academic counselling and Student Pathways<p> Experience with the University/College Application Process<p> Experience working in Guidance <p> Experience with PLAR (Prior Learning Assessment & Recognition) process<p> Understanding of OS (Ontario Schools), OSSD requirements, and course pre-requisites<p> Knowledge of St. Louis programs and processes <p>Salary Level : $47.27/hr plus stat and vacation = $50.83/hr (under review)Qualified applicants are invited to submit a resume and covering letter.
