The educator is central to this mission, creating all the conditions necessary to build bridges between visitors and art. About the positionThe goal of the educational program is to deepen and enrich visitors' experiences in connection with its exhibitions and public events. The educational department?s activities and tools are designed for a diverse audience (preschool, elementary, and secondary school students, college and university students, language schools, community groups, as well as the general public and families). These activities include dialogical guided tours, creative workshops, events, video capsules, essays, articles, and special collaborations with various partners. The educator, under the supervision of the Head of Education, contributes to the design and production of all tour scripts (preschool, elementary, college/university/adults) and all educational tools (digital activity kits for children and youth, video capsules and Movements essays, PowerPoints for virtual tours, and in-gallery creative activities) related to the PHI?s exhibitions. This work is carried out in collaboration with the other educators in the department and the Head of Education, who oversees the process. The educator is also involved in selecting the guest artist for the creative workshop and collaborates with the artist, the educational team, and the Head of Education in designing the workshop. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES? In collaboration with the other members of the education team, the educator?s primary task is to design and produce tour scripts for our various audiences.? The educator also designs and produces a series of educational tools (digital activity kits for children and youth, video capsules and Movements essays, PowerPoints for virtual tours, various in-gallery creative activities) related to the exhibitions. Required skills include research, scriptwriting for educational scenarios, participation in pre-production/post-production with the PHI Studio team, rehearsals, video capsule facilitation during shoots, and writing.? The educator has to lead dialogical guided tours and creative activities for the various groups we serve. - To do this, the educator must demonstrate diverse and advanced pedagogical and andragogical skills to adapt the exhibition content, in conversation, to audiences ranging from preschoolers to master?s and doctoral students from all disciplines, and to lead groups from various community profiles.- This dialogical approach also requires a strong command of varied and complex contemporary art and cultural studies concepts, and the ability to dynamically engage with these in response to visitors? contributions.?The educator has the opportunity to participate in special departmental projects, coordinated by the Head of Education, such as the School at the Museum project, the Contemporary Signing project for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, and Dance Visits with the Festival Quartiers Danses.? The educator also contributes written content about the special projects they participate in, through articles for PHI?s Antenna blog.? They work closely and consult with all members of the team, as required by the education department.? They are expected to stay informed about current issues in education within cultural institutions and keep their knowledge of local and international contemporary art up to date.? They promote the PHI?s mission and serve as its representative.? The educator attends staff meetings, when relevant. SECONDARY TASKS? The educator occasionally collaborates with the Head of Education on the coordination of specific educational program projects that have been pre-approved.?
