*Overview*
The Banquet Captain plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of events and banquets within our establishment. This position requires a dynamic individual who possesses strong leadership skills and a passion for exceptional customer service. The Banquet Captain will oversee the banquet staff, coordinate event details, and ensure that all guests receive a memorable dining experience.
Duties and responsibilities:
· Work closely with the local teams to execute smooth and flawless operation(s).
· Motivate, lead, coach and monitor the performance levels of all team members.
· Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the banquet department?s recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards.
· Help to monitor adherence to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with banquet department?s policies and procedures.
· Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the banquet department?s preventative maintenance programs.
· Ensure that all products are received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with the banquet department?s receiving policies and procedures.
· Adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures outlined in the Health and Safety Program.
· Assist with our continuous effort to ensure smooth and efficient work and service flows.
· Promote team spirit between staff in different departments, enhancing our positive work culture.
The ideal candidate for this role has:
· Dedicated to providing personalized and professional service to all guests, and to showcasing the local region.
· Able to read, write and communicate in an English working environment.
· Able to withstand extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions.
· Able to operate in high pressure environment and remain calm and focused in urgent situations.
· Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as overtime from time to time.
· Able to manage time efficiently.
· Able to pay strong attention to detail.
· Able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, aligning with dress code guidelines.
· Has formal education in a relevant field.
· Holds a valid Serving it Right certification.
· Holds or is willing to work towards a WHIMS certification.
· Holds or is willing to work towards a FOODSAFE certification.
· Holds or is willing to work towards holding a First Aid, Level 1 certification.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.40-$19.40 per hour
Expected hours: 30 ? 40 per week
