Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Address customers' complaints or concerns. Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques. Professionalism in customer service. Drive lighter, special purpose trucks. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Pay and receive payments for goods. Perform brake adjustments. Perform emergency roadside repairs. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles). Transportation/travel information: Travel expenses paid by employer. Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel for extended periods. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Sitting. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Flexibility. Judgement. Organized. Reliability.
