<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p><strong>Baker + Decorator</strong></p><p><strong>Reports jointly to the Bakery Manager and Owner</strong></p><p><strong>$19-23/hour + tips</strong></p><p>As a Baker + Decorator at Ooh La La, you will be a key part of our small, talented, tight-knit team that prepares high quality, creative and delicious cupcakes and cakes.</p><p><strong>What Your Role Looks Like</strong></p><ul><li>Be responsible for reviewing production schedules, following recipes, accurately measuring and mixing ingredients, and baking each item to perfection</li><li>Decorate signature and custom cupcakes and cakes, paying close attention to the order form details</li><li>Ensure each product leaving the kitchen meets our high standards of freshness and appearance; spot check for consistency in colours and quality in flavour and texture</li><li>Receive and check food orders and supplies from vendors when Lead Baker + Decorator/Bakery Manager are not available</li><li>Identify any supplies that are running low and notify the Bakery Manager</li><li>Coordinate the orders for the day, ensuring each order has been accurately completed, is clearly labeled and is ready for pick-up or delivery; communicate any specific details with the Retail Team</li><li>Work alongside your team to keep your station and the bakery clean, using the daily, weekly and monthly cleaning checklists as per Island Health guidelines</li><li>Participate in creating new feature cupcakes and product ideas</li><li>Contribute ideas for marketing and social media posts</li></ul><p><strong>Why You're a Great Fit</strong></p><ul><li>You have your Level 1 Food Safe certification (or committed to getting it within 30 days)</li><li>You have a minimum of 2 years baking and decorating experience</li><li>You work independently to complete tasks as required with minimal direction</li><li>You take pride in your work and are committed to producing high quality results</li><li>You have a positive can-do attitude and good organizational skills</li><li>You are punctual and great at managing your time</li><li>You have reliable transportation</li><li>You're keen to comply with procedures, rules & regulations to ensure a clean and safe workplace</li><li>You have a valid work permit</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Continuous standing/walking for all tasks</li><li>Frequent lifting and carrying up to 22 kg (48lbs)</li><li>Frequent turning and reaching</li><li>Occasional pushing, pulling and some forward bending</li><li>Constant use of both hands, with frequent wrist rotation and flexing, occasional forceful gripping</li><li>Able to work in a warm kitchen environment with limited personal space</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><ul><li>A fun team work environment</li><li>Employee discount</li><li>Ability to request flexible hours</li><li>Opportunity to create a personalized financial plan with the guidance of a qualified RBC® Advisor and/or pre-tax dollar contributions to your group savings plan directly from your paycheque</li></ul></div>Company Description<div>We are a female owned and operated boutique cupcake and cake bakery in Victoria, BC.
