Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints. Clean and prepare surfaces. Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners. Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife. Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets. Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists. Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry. Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Walking. Work under pressure. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Client focus. Reliability. Team player. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Support for persons with disabilities: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities. Support for newcomers and refugees: Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition.
