Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Dusty. Noisy. Tasks: Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Perform repair work on heavy trucks. Verify and repair emission control systems. Perform other routine maintenance. Add or replace hydraulic and transmission fluids. Replace oil, air and fuel filters on motor vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment. Provide on-site services. Install replacement mufflers, exhaust pipes, shock absorbers or radiators. Grease booms, pulleys, buckets and other components of heavy equipment. Change engine oil and lubricate running gears or moving parts of automobiles, trucks or heavy equipment. Assist mechanics and perform other duties as directed. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Automotive Service Licence (310S). Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T). Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Dependability. Reliability.
