Duties and Responsibilities: Work within the PAL Aerospace Systems Development Operations Team in St. John's, NL in support of the design, construction and sustainment of the Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL), simulation driven testing environments and systems automation infrastructure.Plan, communicate and work within an Agile development team.Implement software deployment infrastructure as code to configure aircraft mission system devices.Participate in Requirements and Systems Integration tasks, including the decomposition of system requirements, tests, and creation of systems specifications for project scoping, and bid pursuits.Assist in the specification and procurement phase of aircraft mission system components.Design and assist with the procurement and construction of SIL systems, test support, and automation infrastructure.Integrate, configure, test and debug system components in the SIL and on the aircraft.Emulate / simulate systems environments to stimulate aircraft SIL components and sensors with the use Human Interface Devices, microcontrollers, and signal generators. Maintain SIL components, ensure equipment is kept up to date with software / firmware update. Re-purpose and re-configure devices when required to meet other platform requirements and objectives.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Technical certificate, diploma, or degree in Systems Integration, Electronic, Computer Engineering Technology, Aerospace Technology, or Information Management / Information Technology with 2 years of experience working within a Systems Engineering and / or Systems Integration Lab team environment.Well versed in engineering "V" model principals, processes, and best practices.Experience using DDS or similar simulation technologies in real time simulation environments to interconnect mission system peripherals over aircraft data busses.Familiarity with industry & military communications protocols such as RS232/422, SPI, I2C, CANBUS, Bluetooth, Arinc 429, MIL-STD-1553, TCP/UDP and Ethernet. Knowledge of Shell scripting, Ansible, GIT, Docker, Kubernetes, Docker, LXC, or similar technologies is a plus.Knowledge of Rust, Java, C/C++, JavaScript, Python or other programming languages Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and Agile software development tools such as Jira, Jama, MS Azure and Confluence. Experience using X-Plane, VBS, Unreal Engine or other similar type tools to develop simulation environments to validate aircraft sensors in a laboratory setting.Troubleshooting experience and superior analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent time management and communication skills with the ability to work with a distributed, diverse team.Demonstrated flexibility and able to adapt in a dynamic environment.
