First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples, and all other Indigenous peoples; ? members of groups that commonly experience discrimination due to race, ancestry, colour or place of origin; ? persons with visible and/or invisible (physical and/or mental) disabilities.<p>Full job description below. <p> <p><p><p><p><p>Air Conditioning Mechanic <p>Position Summary <p>Under<p>the direction of the Supervisor, Maintenance Services, the Air<p>Conditioning/Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for the installation,<p>repair, operation and preventive maintenance of heating, ventilating and air<p>conditioning equipment and for all associated controls.<p>Major Functions and<p>Responsibilities <p><p> <p> Performs<p> the daily repair and adjustment of heating, ventilating and air conditioning<p> equipment.<p> <p> <p> Systematically<p> diagnoses malfunctions in HVAC equipment and systems and carries out necessary<p> and appropriate repairs and/or adjusts system to minimize system down time and<p> ensure continued comfort of staff and students.<p> <p> <p> Replaces<p> defective or worn system components to maximize economy of operation.<p> <p> <p> Replaces<p> refrigeration compressors, piping and associated equipment, system leak testing<p> evacuation and charging.<p> <p> <p> Tests<p> refrigerants and systems for contamination.<p> <p> <p> Disassembles,<p> inspects, overhauls and re-assembles reciprocating and rotary compressors.<p> <p> <p> Tests,<p> services and repairs the motor control devices connected to the building environmental<p> control equipment.<p> <p> <p> Replaces<p> or repairs defective heating equipment and sets up and performs combustion<p> efficiency tests.<p> <p> <p> Performs<p> seasonal start up and close down operations.<p> <p> <p> Records<p> details of repairs made or modifications undertaken.<p> <p> <p> Installs<p> and upgrades HVAC equipment, ductwork, and all associated equipment making<p> necessary field modifications and service configurations, to accommodate new equipment.<p> <p> <p> Installs<p> new HVAC systems including ductwork diffusers, refrigeration pipe work and all<p> associated components.<p> <p> <p> Extends<p> existing system to new building zones and re-balances the air and/or liquid<p> circuits to suit revised parameters.<p> <p> <p> Records<p> all work performed on- LocationMississauga, ON
