<p>TEMPORARY STUDENT SUPPORT WORKER <p>The Greater Essex County District School Board invites application packages from persons qualified for the position of Temporary Student Support Worker. <p>Responsibilities: <p><p> Must be available for day-to-day casual replacement and long-term assignments at various school locations throughout the City of Windsor and Essex County.<p> Support teacher(s) with the preparation of learning materials necessary to assist identified students.<p> Ensure the safety and supervision of students by using proper lifting techniques.<p> Implement Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) in compliance with Board Policy and training.<p> Provide supervision of identified students in and around the school.<p> Support and ensure the dignity of students with their personal needs.<p> Demonstrate a commitment to and documented success in working to create a fair, inclusive, anti-racist environment for all stakeholders, and to supporting diverse constituencies and populations.<p> To work in consultation with the school-based team, implement and monitor programs that have been developed which support academic/cognitive skills, social skills, gross and fine motor abilities, communication skills and vocational skills.<p> Assume other duties/responsibilities related to student needs as determined by the Principal.<p><p>Rate of Pay: $21.89- $29.91 an hour, plus 4% vacation pay.<p>Qualifications: <p><p> Applicants must possess a minimum of a Grade 12 Diploma.<p> Preference will be given to those applicants holding certificates from an accredited college for the successful completion of the following programs:<p> Educational Assistant Diploma<p> American Sign Language and Deaf Studies or American Sign Language Interpreter<p> Developmental Service Worker<p> Child and Youth Care<p> Early Childhood Educator<p> Experience and/or other related specialized training and/or certification in field. <p> Possess demonstrable experience and competence in dealing with special needs students in a school or residential setting.<p><p>Qualified candidates are invited to apply in writing, giving full particulars as to education, qualifications and experience by visiting www.applytoeducation.com.
