*Cook* The Vermilion & District Housing Foundation has an opening in our Food Service Department for a Cook. This is a full-time or part-time permanent position reporting to Executive Chef. If you are the right candidate, here is what you will bring: · You bring a solid reputation for being on time and excellence in attendance and punctuality at work · A passion for working with seniors Residents · A solid team player with high level of honesty and integrity · You must be detail oriented, analytical organized, strong work ethic, problem solver and work well under pressure. · A minimum of 1 year of working experiences in Hospitality industry or Retirement Living Facility is preferred. · Your passion is your food, and you enjoy cooking a good food. · You have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and build good relations with co-workers and residents. · You are a strong collaborator and a team player. · Experience in large quantity food preparation and food purchasing. · Prepares meals for residents and guests ensuring dietary needs are met; · You can handle multiple task at the same time and can think on your feet · Prepares and presents meals and food for special events in a manner that promote a positive images of the foundation; · Effectively communicates and interacts with residents, family members and visitors in a professional manner; · You have the loved to work with fresh ingredients and expect a high level of standard for your food taste, creativity and presentation skills. · Food Safe Certifications; · First Aid Certification. Responsibilities: * Prepare meals for residents and guests ensuring dietary needs are met * Prepare and present meals and food for special events in a manner that promotes a positive image of the Foundation * Effectively communicate and interact with residents, family members and visitors in a professional manner We offer a competitive salary and benefit package.
