Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Shop fabrication. On-site fabrication. Tasks: Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Sheet Metal Worker Red Seal Certificate. Specialization or experience: Custom sheet metal items. Stainless steel equipment. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Handling heavy loads.
