The Opportunity
This role will provide comprehensive business, staffing, and technical guidance to direct reports of staff members who speak directly to callers to answer questions, update membership data, and ensure records are correct during events such as annual voting and professional conference registration activities. In order to support the lifelong membership services the Association provides, this leader will analyze call center metrics to improve business processes and efficiency. Development and revision of internal business processes is required, along with continual adjustment of team workloads and priorities, and ensuring membership assistance services are consistent and adhere to policies and procedures.
Critical to the team?s success is the onboarding, coaching, training, feedback and support this leader would provide to team members. In addition to proficiency in supervising staff, delegating tasks, and resolving conflicts efficiently, this manager would also personally field escalated concerns or technology difficulties to provide timely and effective resolution of issues.
In this role, leadership success means being dynamic and skilled at developing great peer relationships with our IT and Privacy department staff to maintain and upgrade database applications as necessary, and to ensure personal data privacy and records retention requirements are upheld.
Preference in shortlisting candidates will be given to applicants who have worked in an admissions, union membership, or registrar?s office within the last three years.
We want to hear from applicants who have:
* A degree in information technology, business administration records management; and
* A minimum of five years of experience working with software/database(s) that maintains employment or personal data and/or tracking software such as Alinity, Peoplesoft, Oracle suite, etc.; and
* Two years of experience supervising a team of staff in a high-volume, deadline-driven, computerized customer service environment.
* Additional leadership or software administration coursework are considered assets. Equivalencies will be considered.
Other skills and knowledge:
* Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong customer-service, communications, and interpersonal skills.
* Intermediate ability to find and interpret data.
* Proven ability to multitask and prioritize work assignments.
