*Role Description: *
Reporting to the Finance Manager the Senior Accountant plays a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective budget management. The Senior Accountant will lead payroll processes, conduct financial analyses, and prepare financial statements while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Additionally, they will serve as the primary liaison for accounting software systems, ensuring data integrity and smooth operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of financial integrity.
*Roles and Responsibilities:*
* Prepare and review bi-weekly and monthly payroll, including the preparation of analytical reports and journalizing payroll entries to ensure accurate compensation.
* Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce comprehensive financial reports and statements, providing insights for management decision-making.
* Lead the annual budget preparation process and oversee the semi-annual forecasting process to align financial goals with organizational objectives.
* Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
* Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, as well as billing processes, to maintain efficient cash flow.
* Reconcile bank and credit card transactions regularly to ensure accuracy in financial records and identify discrepancies promptly.
* Prepare, maintain, and review appropriate ledger entries to ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
* Research accounting issues and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, addressing any discrepancies as they arise.
* Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements while assisting with regulatory reporting requirements.
* Conduct financial analysis and collaborate closely with the Finance Manager to ensure timely completion of financial projects and reports.
* Act as the primary administrator for Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, managing system settings, user access, and workflow processes to optimize efficiency.
* Collaborate with IT and various departments during the ERP implementation to ensure a seamless integration of financial systems and accurate data migration.
*Qualifications:*
* Minimum 5 years of related accounting experience.
* Professional accounting designation preferred. (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA)
* Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel. Experience with SharePoint is an asset.
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and Dayforce is highly preferred.
