*Weekend Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor* _Pinkwood Ltd. ? Calgary, AB_ *About Us* Pinkwood Ltd. is a leading Calgary-based manufacturer specializing in engineered I-joists and structural finger-jointed lumber for Western Canada and the United States. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor for weekend shifts to oversee a team dedicated to supporting production, performing preventive maintenance (PM), and managing project work. *Shift Details* * *Hours:* Friday ? Sunday, 6 am ? 6 pm (*34.5 work hrs* per week) * Paid hours are topped up to 40 hours per week (*5.5 top up hours*/week). *Preferred Qualifications* _Journeyman Millwright certification with supervisory experience; extensive experience will be a strong determining factor._ *Key Responsibilities* _Maintenance Coordination_ * Plan and coordinate maintenance activities for the weekend team, ensuring safe and efficient completion of all tasks. * Collaborate with management to align weekend crew efforts with the facility?s long-term vision. _Accountability & Safety_ * Drive accountability to ensure maintenance tasks are executed safely and to the highest standard. * Enforce safety policies and maintain a safe working environment. _Continuous Improvement_ * Work closely with management and supervisory teams on improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency. _Equipment & Facility Maintenance_ * Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on production and facility equipment. * Ensure equipment and supplies are in working order to maintain the plant's physical and mechanical integrity. _Troubleshooting & Repairs_ * Conduct daily mechanical rounds, inspecting equipment for wear and potential damage. * Troubleshoot issues promptly, complete repairs, and maintain detailed logs. * Assist contractors with major upgrades and monitor external contractor work. _Work Order Management_ * Prioritize and complete assigned work orders efficiently, aligning with production requirements. _Collaboration & Support_ * Provide support to other maintenance personnel and technicians on mechanical repairs as needed. * Maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout the plant. *Qualifications & Skills* * _Strong Supervisory Skills_ ? Ability to mentor and train team members while driving accountability. * _Safety Commitment_ ? Dedicated to maintaining a safe working environment. * Problem Solving ? Proficiency in fault tracing and resilience in challenging situations. * _Self-Sufficiency_ ? Comfortable working alone and in confined spaces. * _Communication Skills_ ? Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and management. * _Reliability_ ? Consistent attendance and dependability. *Technical Skills* _Preventive Maintenance_ * Complete preventive maintenance on machinery, including engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. _Diagnostics & Troubleshooting_ * Identify problems by observing equipment, listening for issues, and using precision measuring and testing instruments. _Documentation & Reporting_ * Maintain accurate maintenance reports and document preventive maintenance activities per department processes. _Compliance & Safety_ * Follow Health and Safety policies and procedures and demonstrate a commitment to Continuous Improvement. *To Apply* Please submit a resume and cover letter to apply.
