*Summary *
ASM Global proudly manages Canada Games Park and Meridian Centre. ASM Global has an immediate opening for an Accountant to support both facilities. This position is one that requires consistent efficiency and accuracy in routinized tasks and functions. The team is small, with each member working closely with each other to ensure that all departmental tasks prioritized by the Director of Finance are completed precisely and in a timely fashion.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
* Completes accurate and timely accounts receivable processing, including preparation of invoices, receiving and posting payments.
* Completes accurate and timely accounts payable processing and payment.
* Timely preparation and input of journal entries.
* Performs daily bank deposits and account reconciliations.
* Completes weekly ticketing journal entries and monthly reporting processes.
* Assist the Director of Finance with month-end processes.
* Assist with monthly reporting to our client (City of St Catharines, Niagara Region, City of Thorold and Brock University) and ASM Global Corporate.
* Assist with event settlements as required.
* Assist with the preparation of external auditor?s information.
* Provide support to finance department team members and finance functions as a back-up with cross-training provided.
* Assists other departments with finance-related tasks as directed by the Director of Finance.
* Other duties as assigned.
*Education & Experience*
The ideal candidate would:
* Have completed the minimum of a post-secondary diploma in finance or accounting.
* Minimum 2 years? experience working in an accounting or financial role, would be preferred. (Additional experience may be substituted for education).
*Skill and Abilities *
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Some experience working with an accounting software package (Sage 50 & D365).
* Enjoy finding increased efficiency in workflow.
* Be able to work with multiple strict deadlines; ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
* Have an attention to detail and an eye for efficiency when conducting routinized tasks.
* Have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Have strong communication skills, verbal and written.
* Flexible to new tasks and requirements.
* Be completely respectful of the confidential nature of the work you perform.
* Have a professional presentation, appearance and work ethic.

* Due to the nature of our business candidates will need to be able to work flexible hours; possibly including occasional evenings, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
