Job details
*Job Summary*
We are a close-knit team with an emphasis on creating the best overall environment for everyone who comes to the clinic. This starts with an amazingly friendly front-end and our clinic dog, Cato, coming over to say, "Hello" (or at least that's what I think he's saying).
We are an open-concept clinic with a strong emphasis on education and movement for optimal, client-focused outcomes. Our young, enthusiatic team are all UBC grads and understand how to provide great care while still being low-stress and having lots of laughs throughout the day. Sometimes our work can be tough, sometimes it can be serious; but, most of the time, we can bring joy to what we do (and it's contagious).
We are seeking physios who take what they do seriously (but not too seriously). We want work to be somewhere you want to be. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide-range of clients with a work schedule that ultimately works for you. Our current physio team is working ~ 40 hours/week, but working less is definitely an option.
*Responsibilities*
* Everything you would expect in private practice - there is a wide range of clients to work with involving various stakeholders - some will likely be unfamiliar to you but we will be more than happy to support you actively as needed.
* Provide education/movement-first approach to treatment. We do use passive modalities but only to support movement (and return to life).
*Skills*
* Motivation to learn and improve - we will provide ongoing training and mentorship
* Strong exercise prescription skills (or interest in improving exercise your exercise prescription skills!)
* Solid understanding of pain science - people see us because they hurt, you need to understand why and how the pain model is complex
Ultimately, we are looking for someone who is looking to join our growing team for the long-term with an aspiration of working in an open-concept, movement-based physiotherapy clinic. We are very involved with UBC and education in general. Students are studying at our clinic on a regular basis - this will be an ongoing dynamic at our clinic!
We have an immediate opening as one of therapists is on maternity leave. You will have a full caseload very, very quickly. In the new year we are expanding our current clinic and will be able to accomodate another two additional therapists.

Cheers!
