JOB PURPOSE:Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Buyer assists the Maintenance Planner with all warehouse inventory responsibilities. This includes but is not limited to, stocking of maintenance materials and supplies, inventory control and records, and related duties as required.WHY WORK AT CONESTOGA MEATS?Growing company with opportunity to grow with team and departmentStable full-time hours; no rotating shiftsEmployee referral bonus program (minimum $300 per hire)Competitive benefits package for you and your family at 3 months of servicePension plan and company matching at 1 year of serviceFloater day given on top of vacation daysDiverse workforce; translation of communication materials into 8 languagesDiscounts on quality pork productsEmployee assistance program (financial assistance, mental health resources)Social Committee events (food trucks, gifts, games)BBQ's and wellness programsOn-site training and company provided equipmentEmployee scholarship program and English coursesKEY JOB FUNCTIONS / ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for ensuring efficient onsite sourcing, handling, and flow of all parts in the plantCoordinate freight handling and bills of ladingCatalog and complete parts mapping for all new plant parts in CMMS and distribute to appropriate locationsMaintain stock levels for maintenance department including rotation of stock and disposal of obsolete partsMonitor inventory sign out sheets for all warehouse locations and update CMMS dailyKeep detailed and accurate records to maintain inventory control and ensure proper stock and input into CMMSAssist Maintenance Planner in initial set up of standards for min and max levels in CMMSPerforms related and peripheral site specific duties as required; telehandler, forkliftAdvise on use and appropriateness of goods or parts to other team membersDaily communication with Maintenance PlannerReview returned work orders to determine required parts and assess stock levelsStage parts for weekend repairsMaintain documentation and control of radiosFollow up on equipment that has been sent out for repairsRecord and track any new/incoming equipment in CMMSRecommend and implement processes changes to enforce continuous improvement in Maintenance departmentAnnual inventory control reconciliationContinuously source for best price and availability on partsEnsure all invoices are updated on a weekly basisResponsible for day to day purchasing of required partsPersonal DevelopmentAttend company required trainingRemain current with technical knowledge in areas of responsibilityAttend regular 1:1 coaching/update sessionsQUALIFICATIONS:High school diplomaTechnical background preferably in mechanical or maintenance fieldsMust have purchasing experienceIntermediate skills in Microsoft Office programs and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Strong organizational and time management skillsHigh attention to detailAbility to work in a team-based environment3-5 years of experience working in a Maintenance environment preferredKEY COMPETENCIES:Accountability and InitiativeCommits to producing the very best output, while maintaining safety and qualityTakes ownership of your work and meet all commitmentsTakes initiative and demonstrates a "do whatever it takes" work ethic to get the work doneService ExcellenceDisplays personal ownership and a sense of urgency over any issues or complaints that arise from the customer experience, both internal and externalCommunicating with ClarityVerifies the meaning of messages sent by others and confirms any next steps requiredCommunicates in a manner that is straightforward and easy to understandAnswers questions in a professional mannerWORKING CONDITIONS:Majority of time spent in stock rooms with occasional office environment and Kill or Cut floors as needed.
