Continuing Education <p> Skills Upgrading Program Literacy Basic Skills (LBS) Instructor<p>LOCATIONS: Wellington Centre for Continuing Education<p>DATES & HOURS: December 3, 2024 - 14 hours/week<p>RATE of PAY: $30.80/hour - $33.48/hour - determined by the qualifications of the successful applicant<p><p> REQUIREMENTS: <p>?OSSD with Post-Secondary Education<p>?Previous experience working in adult education an asset<p>?Teacher qualifications are considered an asset<p>?Adult literacy tutor training certificate is an asset<p>SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES: <p><p>?Facilitation skills and experience in training youth and adult learners.<p>?Efficient in classroom management using a technologically rich and varied skillset learning environment.<p>?Skilled in facilitating safe, enriching discussions with adult learners in an individual learner approach in varied settings using multiple resources, learning plans and curriculum as well as online and remote learning including knowledge of and proficiency using various platforms such as Google Meets and Classroom.<p>?Excellent English written and oral communication skills; numeracy and digital skills; critical thinking and problem solving.<p>?Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English and math for assessment and instruction of secondary level material including paragraph writing, grammar, punctuation and various writing skills as well as proficiency in mathematics skills from fractions to beginning algebra.<p>?Ability to be flexible and respond to changing demands to schedule time, prioritize and complete various electronic and paper-based documents such as intake and exit forms,assessments, learning plans and weekly reports.<p>? Ability to work independently and as a team member.<p>PREFERENCES: <p>? Experience working with students in a continuous intake classroom setting where a wide range of literacy and essential skills are present, and goal paths are varied.<p>? Experience developing learning plans to accommodate various learning styles.<p>? Experience working with adults with various barriers to education or employment, as well as some knowledge of local social and community programming.<p>? Experience and competence with Google Suites and Brightspace (D2L).<p>? Experience resourcing adult literacy material for use in the classroom or individual settings.<p>?
