We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to manage and maintain the financial records for our projects and operations. This role requires strong communication skills and an understanding of accounting principles specific to the construction industry.
*Job Overview:*
As the Accountant for WCBR, you will be responsible for overseeing financial transactions and reporting. You will ensure that all financial records are accurate and up-to-date, and you will work closely with our external accountant, bonding facility, and bank to ensure proper filing and reporting of all necessary financial documents.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Prepare, maintain, and organize financial records for the company, including general ledgers, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and project-related financials.
* Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to external accountants and regulatory bodies.
* Collaborate with the external accountant to ensure proper tax filings and compliance with tax regulations.
* Coordinate with bonding facilities and banks to submit required documentation for bonding and financing purposes.
* Monitor cash flow, manage project budgets, and ensure financial performance aligns with business goals.
* Assist in preparing financial projections, forecasts, and cost estimates for ongoing and upcoming projects.
* Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial records for auditing purposes.
* Ensure compliance with all financial and regulatory requirements within the construction industry.
* Prepare and maintain contracts, purchase orders, and invoices related to projects.
* Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as needed by senior management.
*Requirements:*
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
* 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction or general contracting industry.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, construction project accounting, and cost tracking.
* Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
* Knowledge of construction-specific financial reporting and bonding requirements.
* Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* High level of integrity and professionalism.
*Preferred Qualifications:*
* CPA or other relevant certifications.
* Experience working with bonding companies and banks in the construction industry.
* Familiarity with project management software.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
