Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Broiler and other meat-type chicken production. Layer poultry farming. Noisy. Odours. Dairy. Livestock. All weather conditions. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas. Handling animals. Prepare a clean, dry area for cows that are calving. Harvest crops. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Milk cows. Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens. Maintain work records and logs. Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry. Perform general farm duties. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. Type of crops: Sweet corn. Equipment and machinery experience: Automated manure handling or storage system. Milking system (automated). Forage equipment. Haying equipment. Planting equipment. Area of specialization: Dairy cattle. Poultry. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
