Founded in 1992, Montgomery Industrial Services has evolved into Montgomery Comfort Centre and Montgomery Industrial Services Limited, and is accredited by various reputable organizations in the industry. *Role Description* The Journeyperson Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, including water, gas, and drainage systems, in accordance with building codes and safety regulations. They must be able to work independently, troubleshoot complex plumbing issues, and ensure that installations meet all necessary standards. *Key Responsibilities * * Installation: Install, test, and maintain plumbing systems such as water supply lines, drainage systems, gas piping, and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. * Repairs & Maintenance: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair leaks, clogs, and other plumbing problems in water pipes, faucets, toilets, sinks, and other fixtures. * Blueprint Reading: Interpret and understand blueprints, building plans, and plumbing schematics to determine the placement of systems and components. * Pipework: Cut, assemble, and install pipes, tubing, and fittings using various materials (PVC, copper, steel, etc.) and techniques (soldering, threading, welding). * Compliance: Ensure that all plumbing systems and installations comply with local, state, and national codes and regulations. * Safety Protocols: Follow safety procedures to protect yourself and others while working with hazardous materials such as gas and chemicals. * Customer Service: Interact with clients to assess their needs, provide estimates, and explain repairs or installations. * System Testing: Test plumbing systems to ensure that they are properly installed and functioning, including checking for leaks and pressure testing systems. * Collaboration: Work with other trades, such as electricians, HVAC technicians, and construction teams, to complete projects on time. *Person Specifics and Qualifications * * Plumbing Certificate of Qualification/Red Seal Required * TSSA G2 Preferred * Gas Fitting Certificate Preferred * Backflow Prevention Certificate Preferred At Montgomery Industrial Services Limited, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
