Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Noisy. At heights. Work setting: Installation. Shop fabrication. Service. Various locations. Relocation costs covered by employer. Repair. On-site fabrication. Retrofit. Willing to relocate. Tasks: Design duct systems. Manufacture and assemble in the factory the ducts for hot air heating, air conditioning and ventilation. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Operate laser cutters. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification. Operate plasma cutters. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Sheet Metal Worker Trade Certification. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Sheet Metal Worker Red Seal Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Specialization or experience: Air volume (VAC). Custom sheet metal items. Dust and fume collection system. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Humidifier system. Pre-fabricated metal buildings. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Willing to travel. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Dependability.
