Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: At heights. Confined spaces. Noisy. Work setting: Commercial facility. Generating station. Generating substation. Power plant. Manufacturing and industrial plant. Tasks: Co-ordinate maintenance activities of trade contractors. Complete and maintain station records, logs and reports. Read electrical schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams. Analyze and record instrument readings and equipment malfunction. Assist during routine systems testing. Assist in locating and isolating system problems. Assist in the development of operation, maintenance and safety procedures. Investigate problems to fix or make minor repair. Maintain daily log of operation, maintenance and safety activities. Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctioning and to ensure plant systems are operating normally. Operate automated or computerized control systems. Perform routine equipment maintenance. Regulate water levels. Start up and shut down power plant equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Stationary Engineer 2nd Class. Security and safety: Bondable. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Overtime required. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Hard hat. Steel-toed safety boots. Tools. Personal suitability: Dependability. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Team player. Screening questions: Do you have the above-indicated required certifications?.
