*About Pathfinder*
Pathfinder is a growing progressive bookkeeping and profit strategy firm serving Atlantic Canada. We help our clients manage their paperwork, systemize their bookkeeping, and implement a profit plan. We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join our team.
*Summary of Role*
As a bookkeeper in our firm, you will be completing regular processing while responding to urgent requests from clients. You will be part of a growing team, helping us take on new challenges as we continue to expand. To be successful in this role, you will need to keep yourself organized, pay attention to detail, and be proactive. Many of our clients worry about finances ? your ability to treat them with kindness, empathy, and respect will go a long way.
*Duties & Responsibilities*
As an experienced bookkeeper, you are able to complete all fundamental routines including data entry, bank and credit card reconciliations, processing payroll, calculating source deductions, reviewing your own work, and picking up on your mistakes.
Additionally, you will be able to:
* Manage accounts payable and pay client's bills
* Reconcile CRA accounts (RC, RP and RT)
* Perform excellent data entry with little errors
* Troubleshoot
* Solve complex bookkeeping issues
* Review and submit remittances
* Follow year-end procedures.
Pathfinder uses cloud-based accounting software (primarily Xero and QuickBooks Online). Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in Xero or QBO. You will be trained on the various pieces of software we use, and it is expected that you become proficient with them quite quickly. Key software used in the office includes: Xero, QBO, Hubdoc, Plooto, Sage, Click Up, Excel, and Gmail.
*Requirements*
* The successful candidate will have completed (at minimum) a business certificate program through a community college or private career college;
* Strong computer skills;
* Proactive time management and organizational skills;
* The ability to prioritize workload while working with competing priorities, tight deadlines, and multiple distractions;
* Two years of bookkeeping experience;
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* The ability to work independently as well as within a team setting.
*About the Position*
This is a permanent, full-time position. The hours are Monday ? Friday, 8am ? 4pm (37.5 hours / week). Compensation is between $22 - $26 per hour, depending upon experience. Health benefits are available after three months. After one year, you will receive one week?s paid time off at Christmas in addition to your regular vacation.
