As part of the finance team, the Accountant will support day to day accounting processes with a focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable along with full-cycle accounting. This role will work closely with our Senior Finance Analyst and Manager Finance and support process improvement projects and automation.
* Perform day-to-day full-cycle accounting tasks in a timely and accurate manner;
* Responsible for ongoing accounts payable processes, including invoice entry, approvals and setting up payments;
* Primary contact to the business and vendors for accounts payable inquiries;
* Responsible for review of expense reports for accuracy and in line with policies;
* Assist with monthly bank reconciliations for all operating accounts;
* Create & post journal entries;
* Reconcile intercompany, bank and other balance sheet accounts;
* Assist with ongoing automation projects as requested;
* Support the improvement of accounts payable and accounting processes, development of metrics and reporting; and
* Provide assistance to the team in preparation of audit working papers for annual audits.

Annual salary of CAD 75,000.00 based on a 35 hour work week. Eligibility for annual salary increase and performance based bonus.

*EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:*
* Minimum two years of full-cycle accounting (journal entries, assist with reporting, emphasis on accounts payable);
* Demonstrated experience with improvement projects and automation;
* IT savvy and willingness to learn new skills;
* Strong attention to detail;
* Experience with month-end close is an asset, but not required;
* Excellent organizational and time management skills;
* Ability to multitask and prioritize assigned responsibilities;
* Strong writing and verbal communication skills;
* Positive attitude and ability to work well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment;
* Excellent judgement and ability to work independently;
* Friendly and professional demeanor with a positive attitude;
* Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment by being flexible/adaptable and responding to changing circumstances.
