HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) mechanic

Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Outdoors. Tasks: Install and overhaul heating systems. Install ventilation, air handling and air conditioning systems. Measure and lay out reference points for installation. Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements. Troubleshoot heating systems. Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components. Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices. Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Red Seal Certificate. Air conditioning and refrigeration systems: Heat pump. Air motioning and circulation. Ventilation. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Safety glasses/goggles. Gloves. Personal suitability: Punctuality. Accurate. Client focus. Dependability.
