You have experience in full cycle accounting, a solid knowledge of office computing software, and familiarity with trust accounting. Experience in real estate, property management or income property management is a definite asset.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial management, accounting, record keeping and financial reporting for the company and its related entities. This includes cooperation with Managing Broker, licensed DFH property managers and other members of the leadership and finance department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
DFH Real Estate Ltd / Real estate brokerage, and Related Entities (Homefront Financial Services Ltd, DFH Properties Ltd)
? In collaboration with the team, develop, implement, and oversee the budgeting process for DFH Real Estate Ltd and the related entities.
? Prepare monthly financial statements and weekly cashflow updates for real estate business and three related entities.
? Review and investigate variances on the financial statements to budget and prior periods and provide reporting to management
? Ensure statutory reporting and remittances are filed accurately and on time
? Ensure accurate recording and collection of monthly income
? Cash management, bill payments, accounts payable processing using, manual and electronic payments;
? Bank and trust account reconciliations for real estate business and related entities.
? Process remittances for GST, property taxes, payroll, Worksafe
? Process staff payroll including oversight for vacation tracking realtor and employee, benefits and timesheet maintenance
? Manage realtor contracts, renewal dates and set-up in software systems.
? Prepare, reconcile and file annual T4s, T4As, and T5s;
? Prepare annual working papers for year end and real estate trust audit;
? Coordinate with external accounting firm to meet filing deadlines
? Monitor and oversee internal controls to ensure compliance with external regulators and financial reporting requirements
? Oversees tracking of service agreements and contracts.
DFH Real Estate Ltd / Property Management Division
Duties and Responsibilities:
? Manage and execute all administration and accounting procedures and processes for the property management division.
? Maintain records for all Property management division; track landlord contracts and enter/remove properties into Yardi property management software.
? Provide accounting support to the property managers.
? Reconcile and prepare monthly landlord statements.
? Prepare monthly bank and trust account reconciliations and year end landlord statements.
? File and track non-resident tax withholdings, make remittances and issue tax reporting slips at yearend.
? Prepare monthly financial statements for property management division.
Qualifications:
? Three to Five years experience or combination of education and work experience. (professional accountant designation an asset, but not required)
? Proficient in MS Office including advanced skills in Excel
? Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
? Organized and attention to detail.
? Team player who can work under pressure and meet deadlines.
? Experience with accounting software; Brokerwolf/Back Office, SAGE50 and Yardi Breeze is an asset.
? Experience with on-line business banking platforms for collecting income, and processing payments,
? Familiarity with the real estate and property management industry, is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00-$34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 ? 40 per week
