Because we're New Brunswickers too, we care about our customers and future generations, and today we are actively looking for a new member to join us.As part of the Corporate Communications Team, the Communications Officer is key in assisting with the development of a variety of communication plans and leading, or contributing to, the execution of those plans so that goals and targets are met.Key functions include:? Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and foster positive relationships with journalists and news outlets in both English and French.? Develop and distribute press releases, statements, and media kits in both English and French.? Monitor media coverage and analyze public sentiment.? Coordinate media events, press conferences, and interviews.? Track and report media coverage metrics and outcomes.? Support Corporate Communications team across projects, ensuring consistent messaging across platforms? Collaborate with internal teams to align staff with external communications and key initiatives? Develop communication plans to inform stakeholders, address concerns, and collect feedbackThe ideal teammate will have:? Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.? 3-5 years of experience in media relations, public relations, or journalism.? Fully bilingual (English and French), with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages (testing through Service New Brunswick will be required).? Strong understanding of media landscapes, including print, broadcast, and digital outlets.? Experience with crisis management and strategic communications.? Knowledge of social media management and analytics tools.In addition to the above qualifications, the candidate must demonstrate that they are a proactive and proven self-starter, have strong communication skills, and be highly organized with an ability to meet tight deadlines under competing priorities.An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.
