The Automotive Service Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of the service department at Ray and Sons Automotive. This position is responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery, managing a team of technicians, and maintaining customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and exceptional customer service skills to drive the success of Ray and Sons Automotive.
*Responsibilities*
* Lead and manage the daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
* Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, concerns, and service needs promptly.
* Oversee the scheduling of service appointments and ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance.
* Train, mentor, and supervise automotive technicians to enhance their skills and performance.
* Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
* Handle cash transactions accurately and oversee billing processes for services rendered.
* Implement upselling techniques to promote additional services or products that benefit customers.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment that adheres to safety standards.
*Skills*
* Strong background in automotive repair with hands-on experience as a mechanic or technician.
* Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building relationships with clients.
* Proficient in cash handling procedures and financial transactions related to service operations.
* Ability to effectively upsell services while maintaining customer trust and satisfaction.
* Solid mechanical knowledge to understand vehicle systems and diagnose issues effectively.
* Sales acumen to drive revenue growth within the service department.
* Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
