Their North American division is based in Toronto, where they oversee the design, production, and installation of engineered systems. Their customer base spans both the United States and Canada.
*About the Role:*
We are looking for a detail-oriented *Contract Manager* with experience in the construction industry. This role is based in Toronto, within the Finance and Administration department, and will report directly to the Legal and Insurance Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing contracts, negotiating terms, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborating with stakeholders across Canada and the U.S.
*Responsibilities*
* *Contract Review & Negotiation:* Examine and negotiate the terms and conditions of service, maintenance, refurbishment, and new construction agreements, ensuring they align with company policies and legal requirements.
* *Risk Management:* Identify potential contractual risks and work with the legal and project teams to implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
* *Stakeholder Collaboration:* Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, subcontractors, property managers, and other clients while serving as the primary contact for contract-related discussions.
* *Cross-Department Coordination:* Partner with project managers, legal advisors, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution and compliance throughout the lifecycle of each project.
* *Documentation & Reporting:* Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract documentation, and provide regular updates to senior management on the status of contracts and compliance measures.
* *Dispute Resolution:* Handle contract disputes, claims, or issues through negotiation, and engage legal support when required.
* *Administrative Support:* Assist with additional administrative tasks as needed to support the contracts and legal team..
*Requirements*
* *Experience:* At least 2 years of experience in contract management, review, or administration within the construction industry.
* *Knowledge:* Familiarity with legal contract terminology, with the ability to read and interpret complex legal documents.
* *Education:* A bachelor?s degree in construction management, law, business, or a related field.
* *Skills:* Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical abilities, with excellent attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* *Technical Proficiency:* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
*Preferred Qualifications:*
* *Cross-Border Expertise:* Experience working on construction projects spanning Canada and the U.S. is a strong asset.
* *Certifications:* Certification in contract management or legal compliance is a bonus.
