*About the Position*
We are growing and require an experienced Staff Accountant who is friendly, dynamic and outgoing with full-cycle bookkeeping experience to join our professional team. You would perform a range of tasks including full-cycle bookkeeping, preparing notice to reader financial statements, preparing payroll and HST filings as well as personal and corporate tax returns.
*Responsibilities*
* Full-cycle bookkeeping including reconciliation of bank statements and other accounts, posting journal entries, calculate fixed assets and depreciation
* Prepare trial balance of books
* Preparation of notice to reader working papers and financial statements for a broad range of businesses
* Prepare schedules and HST filing, calculating and recording cost of sales
* Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll including withholding taxes and remittances
* Preparation and filing of T4/T5 slips, ROE, WSIB
* Preparation and filing of Personal and Corporate Tax Returns
* Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
* Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
* Knowledge of accounting standards (ASPE, ASNPO)
* Respond to Canada Revenue Agency inquiries
*Qualifications and Requirements*
* At least 3 years of accounting and tax preparation service in a public accounting firm
* Proficient in computerized ledger systems such as QuickBooks Desktop/Online, Paymate, CanTax/Profile, MS office
* Knowledge of Canadian income tax and preparation of Personal and Corporate Tax Returns
* Experience in preparing payroll and filing government remittances including HST, WSIB, EHT and other
* Bonus - Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or in pursuit of certification
* Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to multi-task
* Strong attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills
* Bachelor?s degree (preferred) or diploma in Accounting or finance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
