Our school is in the heart of Burnaby, BC, close to many parks, restaurants, and a short commute to Downtown Vancouver and other great attractions. <p>Learn more about our school: www.stmichaelschool.ca <p>JOB DESCRIPTION <p>St. Michael's School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate After School Care Supervisor to oversee and facilitate the daily operations of our after-school program. The ideal candidate will ensure a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for students to engage in various activities, complete homework, and develop social skills in alignment with the school?s Catholic values.<p>This position is a part-time position. The position is typically from 3 PM to 6 PM Monday through Friday on days when the school is in session. After School Care Supervisors are required to facilitate and supervise a variety of activities. Physical activity is, therefore, required and will include walking, standing, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.<p>Key Responsibilities:<p>1. Supervision and Safety:<p>Oversee the safety and well-being of students during after-school hours.<p>Monitor student activities to ensure a safe and respectful atmosphere.<p>2. Program Implementation:<p>Plan and facilitate engaging activities, including educational, recreational, and spiritual development programs.<p>Assist students with homework and provide additional academic support as needed.<p>Encourage positive social interactions among students through group activities and cooperative play.<p>3.Communication:<p>Maintain open and effective communication with parents, teachers, and school administration.<p>Provide regular updates to the Principal about program operations and student behaviour.<p>4. Administrative Duties:<p>Keep accurate records of student attendance and incidents.<p>Assist with the setup and cleanup of program spaces and materials.<p>5. Qualifications:<p>High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in education, child development, or a related field preferred.<p>Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.<p>Experience or coursework relating to working with children with diverse needs or abilities are an asset.<p>6.
