Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Construction site. Tasks: Load, unload and transport construction materials. Measure weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting. Perform pre-operational inspection. Read blueprints to determine work requirements . Clean and lubricate cranes. Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades. Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. Operate cranes equipped with dredging attachments to dredge waterways and other areas. Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction. Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites. Operate bridge or overhead cranes to lift, move and place plant machinery and materials. Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs. Level earth to fine grade specifications. Pave and rake asphalt. Assist in demolishing buildings. Clean and pile salvaged materials. Operate dragline cranes to expose coal seams and ore deposits at open pit mines. Perform routine maintenance work. Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants. Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites. Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction. Direct traffic at or near construction sites. Follow emergency and safety procedures. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Type of trucking and equipment: Concrete mixing. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence.
